The Hon. Christopher McLean

Vice President of National Strategies, Inc., a strategic consulting firm representing substantive knowledge of telecommunications, safety, transportation, environmental, financial services and other issues with extensive experience in the political and public policy realms.

He served as the Administrator of the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), which lends billions of dollars to applicants for rural telecommunications, electric, water, broadband distance learning and telemedicine projects, and Governor of the Rural Telephone Bank.

Mr. McLean is an advocate for rural consumers. He has testified before Congressional Committees, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and State Regulators. At RUS he championed broadband deployment, new and renewable energy technologies and universal service. He was also appointed by the FCC and the Federal State Joint Board to serve on the Rural Task Force, which recommended reforms of universal service support for rural telecommunications carriers.

Mr. McLean hails from Omaha, Nebraska. He received a Master of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University in 1985, a Juris Doctor degree from Creighton University School of Law in 1982 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Creighton University in 1980.
